Two days after Hurricane Gustav made landfall and began churning northwest through Southwest Mississippi, Lincoln County is making progress in cleaning up the mess and getting things back to normal.

An Entergy official says it may be days before power returns to some of its customers knocked off the grid today by a gusty Hurricane Gustav. About 6,500 customers had lost power throughout Pike, Amite and Walthall counties as of about 2 p.m., Entergy customer service manager Jim Hedges says.
