A second week of ideal weather was a treat for area residents. No rain fell. Highs were in the mid-80s most days and lows were in the lower 50s. The Mississippi River rose for the first part of the week, then started to fall.

On curriculum tests, VWSD in line with state averages (The Vicksburg Post)

Vicksburg Warren School District Superintendant Dr. James Price is pleased with the district?s performance on results of curriculum tests announced Friday, though the scores can?t be compared with earlier scores because of changes in the testing.

TO CHANGE OR NOT: School trustees square off over grades (The Vicksburg Post)

The discussion was divided Thursday as Vicksburg Warren School District trustees moved toward a scheduled vote in October on whether to expand the grading scale here to allow lower numerical averages to achieve higher letters and more points in their overall scores.
